Teaching 2D Geometry in French? Your French students will love being engaged with a variety of hands-on math centres! This package focuses on the following two-dimensional shapes: un rectangle, un cercle, un carré, un triangle, un trapèze, un octogone, un hexagone, un pentagone, un ovale, un losange, un cœur and une étoile.

- creating shapes with a variety of tools
- describing attributes

- identifying 2D shapes with real-world examples
11 Centre activities included:
- Card Games - students will match 2D shapes with real-world examples
- Self-Correcting Puzzles - students will match 2D shapes and names with their real-world examples to create the puzzle
- Trois en Ligne - roll the shape dice to see who will be the first to get 3 in a row
- Write the Room - place shape cards around the room - students need to find the cards and write the shape name in the space
- Board Game - move around the game board naming shapes
- Mini-Book - create a booklet describing the attributes of different shapes and matching them with their name and real-world example
- Roll and Draw - roll a dice and draw the coordinating shape
- Sorting Cut and Paste - sort the shapes into thecorrect categories
- Construction with Geoboards - provide your students with Geoboards and elastics and have them use the task cards to build the shapes
- Construction with Popsicle Sticks - provide your students with popsicle sticks and have them create the different shapes using the cards for support
- Construction with Tangrams - provide your students with a set of tangrams and have them work to fill the spaces. (Two versions are provided for this activity)
This resource also includes a set of Word Wall Vocabulary Cards and an additional set of printable pages. *Please note that I have provided options for both "coins" and "sommets" to allow you to work with your curriculum.
